We train children for several reasons

  • From the health point of view we keep them in mental and physical countenance.
  • We teach them to respect and help each other. Self defence. Preventing bullying in the school.
  • We are following the curriculum of a traditional martial art from Japan, which mainly emphasis on morality and etiquette which consider a way of life. Indeed we do it as physical education, as a sport as well.
  • We challenge them and bringing out their personal best.
  • We give strong emphasis on education and connection with nature.
  • We strongly respect their still growing bodies and minds.

Regularly attending classes help children to focus their minds, they learn discipline, patience, respect and achieving self esteem and confidence.

"Children will gain valuable life skills, that makes them live a better life!

My son Tommy took karate classes with Tatiana for 8 years, he enjoyed her karate summer camps as well. Tatiana is very personable with kids and parents, she knows well how to motivate and she has a natural authority.

Tatiana is very professional and passionate in her field. She is always cheerful, kind and encouraging the children. I recommend her trainings from the bottom of my heart.
My son had karate trainings with Tatiana for five years, and I also did ladies’ shape-up training with her when we were living in Prague. Trainings with her are challenging for the body, but she is requesting only what we are able to do, and in fact we improved so much. We all just gained from the trainings with Tatiana.

Hi Tatiana,
I think you are a great karate teacher for children. You motivate and give proper advice to them. Above all, you have very positive energy which uplifts everyone’s spirit.
May had an experience in Japan and of course you know how disciplined they are, she finds the class rather disorganised. Chatting and casual behaviour was not allowed so. She mentioned if you could make them behave better and she’d be happier. But I know we are in Czech so we can’t ask much.
Keep up with your great spirit!!!

I signed up my oldest son Sebastian for Sensei Tatiana’s karate class as an after-school club in September 2020. Sebi managed to have a few onsite lessons before the covid situation started. He absolutely loved it and rated it Tops. Tatiana then continued online, Sebi joined and Tatiana gives really good classes. Sebastian trains hard and does his best every time he trains. He always looks forward to the classes. And Tatiana does it really good. The classes are well prepared, full of techniques with loads of physical exercises. Sebi, today 10 years old, ends up with a sweat after each class.
I write this as an expert.
I am a karate instructor myself in JKA – it is an organization with slightly different techniques than Tatiana’s, but we share most techniques. I am a 5-dan black belt with high-level international licenses as instructor, referee and examiner. I instruct in SKBU in Prague, the Japanese School of Prague, Uvaly and in a lot of seminars around the Czech Republic. In the Czech JKA, I instruct the national team and I have taken my own students to both European and World Championships in many places around the world. My latest achievement as instructor was when my Junior Men Kata Team took Gold in Norway (2019) and Individual Gold and Silver in kata. So I know what I see.
My son, Sebastian, today has a JKA orange belt since he has trained with me and others in many places. What he is doing with Tatiana is fantastic, and he enjoys it. Best of all is that during class (which is now online) he asks me all these questions about how he can do it better, why Tatiana says one thing and I say another.
Even better, karate is Budo.
It is a martial art, not a sport. It is a way of living where you can improve through a lifetime. (In Czech “Karate pro život”)
Budo teaches respect. We do not hurt each other. We learn with each other. And karate is probably one of the best physical activities on earth. When you practice, you use all the muscles in your entire body. So you build up a great physique, body coordination and – I think this is most important – self-esteem and confidence in yourself. Not many sports can boast this and it should start early on.
This is what Tatiana does. She is junior to me, but having seen her lessons, and joined some, this is where you should take your kids! I highly recommend her lessons.

My sons Lucas and George have gained so much through their time with Sensei Tatiana. She does not simply teach Karate, but confidence, self awareness, discipline and respect. They loved her lessons and also had a great time on the Karate camps.
We all miss her since our return to the UK.

My son Pavle loves his karate class and he also especially loves the karate camps that Tatiana organizes. She has so much patience with children and that is very hard to find anywhere else. Pavle cannot wait for the next lesson because she encourages him to keep pushing forward!

My sons, Frank and Aubrey, absolutely loved their karate classes at PBS Kamyk with Tatiana. She taught them so many things about life through their learning of the sport, and now that we have returned to the UK, it is proving difficult to find a teacher so sensitive to the needs of their students in the same way as Sensei (Tatiana) is. Thank you so much; we miss you!

My son, Baudi, has been doing karate for a numerous number of years. Sensei Tatiana gave my son lots of knowledge and prompted him to achieve success. He managed to earn the brown belt, but unfortunately we had to move to the United States, and now he doesn’t do karate. However, he remembers his sensei with great love a respect. We’re very thankful for having sensei Tatiana as our karate teacher.

TOURNAMENTS

"One competition is like to have two trainings...."

Karate is martial art but to this point we consider karate as a sport. For those who would love to compete or only just would love to try it, we are giving our students opportunity to participate on national tournaments which are taking place all around countryside. Competition is a major factor in education and it occurs naturally between living organisms which co-exist in the same environment. We support every child to take part on tournaments…They will have unforgettable life experience and feelings of victory or failure, both belong to sport. Simply it helps your child to be better and to know himself/herself better.

There are different level of competitions, for beginners or for professionals, from 6 years to 70, from children tournaments to world championship. Every basic tournament has categories divided according sex, age, grade and category agility, kihon (basic techniques), kata individuals, kata team, kihon kumite or kumite. Ussually am encouraging children to do all of it. There are strict rules especially for children. They must wear protection and its allowed to have only light contact.
